ARTM View 1.4.2

ARTM View  is the visualization and analysis component of the ARTM (Atmospheric Radionuclide Transport Model) software suite. It is a sophisticated system for modeling the transport and dispersion of radionuclides in the atmosphere for safety assessments, emergency planning, and consequence analysis of radiological incidents. The software calculates plume pathways, atmospheric concentrations, and deposition amounts of radioactive materials, taking into account topography, meteorological data, and source term characteristics, presenting results through advanced graphics and quantitative reports.

 Primary Users

ARTM View is a specialized advanced atmospheric dispersion modeling software designed for Radiological Safety Specialists, Health Physicists, Environmental Engineers, Nuclear Emergency Response Planners, Atmospheric Researchers, and Regulatory Consultants in the nuclear energy, research, and regulatory safety sectors.

Key Features & Capabilities

  • Advanced Atmospheric Dispersion Modeling: Utilizes advanced physical models (e.g., Lagrangian particle, Gaussian puff) to simulate the transport, dispersion, dry deposition, wet deposition, and radioactive decay of radionuclides.
  • Integration of Complex Meteorological Data: Processes and utilizes 3D meteorological data fields (wind, temperature, stability, precipitation) from weather prediction models or local stations to drive realistic dispersion scenarios.
  • Dose & Consequence Assessment: Calculates radiological doses (inhalation, external exposure, groundshine) to individuals and populations, supporting safety analyses and emergency response planning.
  • GIS-Based Visualization & Mapping: Powerful geospatial interface to visualize plume contours, deposition maps, and exclusion zones overlaid on topographic maps, satellite imagery, and population data.
  • Source Term & Scenario Management: Tools to define complex release scenarios (acute, chronic, stack, ground-level) including a comprehensive library of radionuclide properties.
  • Regulatory Compliance Reporting: Generates reports and outputs aligned with requirements from nuclear regulatory bodies (e.g., NRC, IAEA).

What’s New in Version 1.4.2

This update focuses on enhanced model accuracy, user interface improvements, and extended data support.
  • Updated Meteorological Data Processors: Support for newer formats and higher-resolution input from meteorological models (e.g., WRF) for more precise simulation.
  • Enhanced 3D Visualization Engine: Improved rendering of complex plume dynamics and temporal evolution in the visualizer.
  • Expanded Radionuclide Library: Updated decay chains and dose conversion factors based on the latest ICRP publications.
  • Streamlined Scenario Comparison: New tools for easier side-by-side comparison of multiple “what-if” release scenarios.
  • Performance Optimizations: Faster calculation times for long-range and long-duration transport scenarios.

💻 System Requirements

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or 11.
  • CPU: Multi-core Intel i5/i7 or equivalent.
  • RAM: 8 GB minimum (16 GB+ recommended for large-domain/high-resolution runs).
  • Graphics: Dedicated graphics card (NVIDIA or AMD) with 2GB+ VRAM for advanced visualization.
  • Storage: 2 GB free space + space for large meteorological and result datasets.
