CHARM or Complex Hazardous Air Release Model is a software It is specialized for modeling and simulating the sudden release of contaminated and dangerous chemicals in the air from various sources such as fire (BLEVE or fire pool or Jet Fire), explosion (mechanical failure, dispersion of pollution caused by vapor cloud explosion) and transportation of hazardous materials. This software models emergency response and planning to deal with the mentioned incidents according to the EPA Risk Management Program known as RMP, Rule 112r. Two versions of this software are available, one for a single source in smooth terrain and another for multiple sources in complex terrain, which of course involves more data input. Both versions of the software have the ability to estimate the effects of using chemical weapons of mass destruction and can be used for mustard gas, sarin, sum man and VX. The second version of this software has more simulating capabilities in the field of these types of weapons and is able to simulate the changes in size, volume, sublimation, evaporation and settling of these gases. This software can also be used to check the effects of biological weapons such as anthrax.
