GeoHECHMS is a highly specialized and practical software for surface runoff modeling and design and evaluation of flood collection and disposal networks. This software uses almost all calculations and time-consuming parts of developing watershed management models, such as drawing basins and sub-basins, calculating the number of curves according to land use variables and soil maps, latency (time between heavy rain and flood) and do Performs automatically and saves engineers time and energy.

The software uses a graphical user interface similar to AutoCAD and is fully compliant with US standards and regulations in the field of watershed management and flood management. With the help of this software, the user is able to determine predefined scenarios and different strategies to deal with each with the obtained data.

All pre-flood and post-flood conditions and variables can be studied and used in this software, and the user can easily measure different conditions and offer unique solutions for each. The software is fully flexible and supports various units of measurement, especially metrics. The software interface supports two types of 2D and 3D displays simultaneously and is compatible with other engineering software and GIS such as Microstation and Arc GIS .

It is possible to easily integrate prefabricated models into the software environment and adapt them to realistic and up-to-date drawings. Using the Multi-Document Interface (MDI) feature, the user can work on several different maps and projects simultaneously and copy information from one project to another.
