Lightmap HDR Light Studio software offers 3D artists a new approach to lighting 3D images. It allows users to “paint” their scenes with light. The lighting process is now easy, fast, accurate, creative and enjoyable . HDR Light Studio creates lighting that is used by the user’s existing 3D rendering engine and software. By adding HDR Light Studio to their workflow, 3D artists will be more productive and the quality of their images will improve. The software can be used standalone or connected to the main 3D application, meaning you can load a 3D scene and generate the ideal HDRI map directly in HDR Light Studio.

Program features and functions

• Interactive Image Based Lighting: The dynamic HDRI environment map is updated simultaneously as lights are added and adjusted, as well as the Render View that is being lit by it.
• HDRI Area Lights: HDR Light Studio has the ability to create and control 3D Area Lights (Area Lights / Emitters) within the user’s 3D software. The position of these lights is adjusted with the same intuitive user interface, by clicking and dragging on the 3D model.

• Render View and LightPaint: The Render View is a key feature of the HDR Light Studio lighting interface. Lights are placed by clicking and dragging on the render view; this documented process is called LightPaint .
• Area Lights: Area lights are controlled using LightPaint and are compatible with 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, and MODO.
• Handling large scenes: Render view and LightPaint remain fast even with very large scenes.
• Matching Photography: When combining photography and CG images, matching the lighting between the photographic content and the CG elements is key to the success and believability of the image. HDR Light Studio simplifies this process and allows for the rapid creation of a suitable lighting environment.
• Enhancing Reality: When reality isn’t enough, HDRI maps taken in real locations can be loaded and additional light sources can be added to bring the subject to life. Just like in a real photo shoot, Beauty Lights are added to make the subject the star of the scene.
• Procedural Sky: HDR Light Studio includes a procedural sky shader that can replace the sky in an existing HDRI map and control the position and softness of the horizon using alpha gradients.
• Mix Up Your Maps: This program allows you to load more than one HDRI map and blend them together using an Alpha Ramp. It also takes control of the colors using Saturation and Color Filter settings to create a better match and make the most of your existing HDRI collection.
• More than just lights: HDR Canvas is a compositor for HDR and LDR content, supporting a wide range of image formats, mappings, and blend modes.
• Portable Lighting: HDRI maps are the best portable lighting format. They can be used with different rendering engines and provide predictable and accurate results, especially with Physically Based Rendering.
• Industry Standards: HDR Light Studio supports OpenColorIO color management and Alembic scene file loading . It also automatically converts files to mip-mapped and tiled images and saves them as .tx files to efficiently manage large image files , which greatly improves load times and application performance.
