SelectEOR 1.0

The software SelectEOR provided a fast screening of oil reservoir Black Swan for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) applications, and an oil production forecast for the potentially feasible EOR processes, selected in this screening phase. The screening is based on a comparison with data on the results of successful commercial scale EOR projects, while the forecast relies on versatile analytical models from the technical literature.

The goal of our project is to identify the most appropriate EOR methods for Black Swan oil reservoir. The units system used in this report is Metric. The first phase of the project consisted of a screening of the technically feasible EOR processes based on the input data provided by Alberta Research Council. Reservoir property values were estimated at average values.

From 17 EOR processes screened, the following processes met our technical screening criteria:

6) In Situ Combustion

7) Horizontal Wells

8) Natural Edge Water Drive
