History of CITECT SCADA software

The Citect project was started in 1973 by one of the Alfa Laval group companies. With the passage of time and the industry’s acceptance of SCADA systems, the Citect developer group became independent from the Alfa Laval group and continued its work in an independent company called Ci Technologies.

The impressive development of Citect software attracted the attention of other industrial groups until finally this small company was bought by the powerful Schneider Electric company in 2006. Since 2008, Schneider Electric has released and supported Citect software and made it compatible with its hardware products.
