MSC Simufact Additive  is a specialized, high-fidelity simulation software from Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division. It is engineered to predict and mitigate manufacturing distortions, stresses, and support structure requirements in metal additive manufacturing processes like Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB/M) and Directed Energy Depposition (DED).

It enables a “right-first-time” approach, drastically reducing the costly and time-consuming trial-and-error cycles associated with metal 3D printing.

• Integrated Build Preparation: Direct import and meshing of CAD geometries. Perform automatic part nesting and orientation optimization within the build chamber to minimize supports and distortion.

• Enhanced Physics & Efficiency: Leverages Hexagon’s powerful solver technology for faster, more robust simulations. New features for simulating advanced processes like Binder Jetting with sintering are in development.
